They’re fixtures in the evening skyline; so familiar that we take them for granted, but here in St Lucia, every once in a while, the proverbial stars come out at night in more ways than one. Case in point, the NIC Constellation Awards which brought another year of hard work at the National Insurance Corporation to a festive close. The Gala event took place at Gaiety in January, bringing the organizations brightest shining “stars” to the fore in order to commemorate not only their outstanding efforts over the past year, but also to specially honor them for years of long service. Aptly entitled “The NIC Constellation Awards” the evening was a true tribute to the “stars” of the organization, some of whom have been with the company for more than 30 years. The awards which were handed out to the Stars and named after stars in the galaxy were as follows:

Mrs. Gina Isembert formally Duncan joined the NIC in July as a Clerk at the Vieux Sub-Office. In January 2006 Ms Isembet was promoted to the post of Clerk at the Vieux Fort Sub Office. |

Verena Felicien |

Verena Felicien joined the NIC in March 1996 as a Legal Clerk. She is an outstanding female cricketer who has captained the St Lucia Women Cricket team, is a member of the Caribbean and West Indies Women’s Cricket Team and was a representative on the tour to Pakistan, India and South Africa.
Ms Felicien has on more than one occasion been nominated as Sports Woman of the Year. A very quick, reliable and efficient officer she has successfully juggled work and play while pursuing academic studies leading to an LLB Degree. |

Ms Marcellin joined the NIC in July 1995 as a clerk in the Vieux Fort Sub Office. She has served in various positions within the office and is currently a Cashier/Customer Service Officer in the Department. |
Francis Alexis |

Mr. Alexis joined the NIC in August 1996 as a Special Police Constable in the Security Department. He is very courteous and does his best to assist the customers who visit the National Insurance Office. |
